LOVED this book. I loved Syrah, a lot. The message was wonderful.

I think this book really shines inn it's world building. Not only does it avoid info-dumping, but it uses a really, really unique world/mythology/magic system that I really have never even seen before. I think it's important to note that this leans more speculative than fantasy, and therefore might not be as great for people just starting with the genre. BUT it's absolutely amazing and a worthwhile ready.

(trigger warnings should include: racism, sexism, violence, familial struggles/issues and violence)

Cw: racism, sexism, violence, death of family members

World-building was incredibly inventive, a great part of the SciFi/speculative genre. I really liked this.
